Meet Jewells

Along with being an adventure seeking, vegan food lover, I really enjoy sharing about Iceland and my life in such a fantastic place. I‘m a native New Yorker that fell in love and married an Icelander. Moving to Iceland was not a difficult choice, and it amazes me every day that I get to live here. No matter if I’m hiking in the highlands or walking on the streets of Reykjavík, I’m always learning something new and sharing what I learn with others, such as what to pack for an adventure in Iceland.

If want assistance planning an epic adventure in Iceland, including hidden gems, I’m here to help. Check out my one-on-one Iceland trip planning video consultation service.

I‘m incredibly grateful to share with all of you what makes this country so unique. Whether you listen to the All Things Iceland podcast, or follow me on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, or Facebook, you will definitely learn lots of interesting facts about Iceland. I’m proud to share that On September 15, 2020, I was awarded with an Equal Rights award  for the work I’ve done on the All Things Iceland podcast and YouTube channel to share the experiences of different foreign nationals and Icelanders in the country.

My journey to Iceland

Even though Iceland is such a huge part of my life now, it was not very long ago that I was completely unaware of how amazing this place is. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and lived most of my life there. The first time I moved away from NYC was to attend RPI in upstate NY for four years. After receiving my bachelors in Biomedical Engineering, I moved back to NYC to work and live. My first visit to Iceland in December of 2013 with Gunnar is what started my fascination with the land of fire and ice.

As Gunnar and I‘s relationship grew stronger, I found myself trying to figure out how I can move to Iceland. If you are curious about the full backstory on how Gunnar and I met, you can watch this video. In the spring of 2016, I was elated when I landed a job in the country. My life had already changed when my relationship started with Gunnar, but moving to Iceland felt like I was about to embark on an amazing adventure. Oh, what an adventure it has been and continues to be!
